We are bound by some of the highest standards in the United States. We have set ourselves apart from others by voluntarily seeking 3rd party certifications. This type of certification is encouraged by the Environmental Protection Agency, which states:
"EPA encourages all electronics recyclers to become certified by demonstrating to an accredited, independent third-party auditor that they meet specific standards to safely recycle and manage electronics."
Currently two accredited certification standards exist: the Responsible Recycling Practices (R2) and the e-Stewards® standards. We also encourage customers to choose certified electronics recyclers. Responsible electronics recycling provides important benefits, such as:
We successfully passed stage one and two audits and were certified by Perry Johnson Registrars with R2 and ISO 14001:2004 (see Appendices). This has enabled us to aggregate electronic scrap at a greater volume and with peace of mind to our customers. We can also sell our re-manufactured automotive batteries with a quality standard with ISO endorsement.
We also have a DNR and EPA number for tracking throughput because of the universal waste product we handle. The Department of Natural Resources is 341162030. The Environmental Protection Agency is WIR000132274. Along with these government regulations we have taken out above and beyond adequate insurance for our business. Currently we have over 2 million for liabilities and a separate 1million 3-year irrevocable pollution insurance policy that is in place in case of any environmental irregularities. We have no reason to presume any problems in our future but have taken aggressive steps to ensure that everything is covered.
